Hi guys,
I have another awesome guest on the blog this week, today we have Anika from Chapters of May. I started following Anika a couple of months ago and I love her welcoming writing style, the chic look of her blog and how varied and versatile her content is. If you want a blog to read that truly has it all then look no further! Anika’s posts range from lifestyle, fashion, photography, travel and of course my favourite thing; books!

1.) Tell us all a bit about yourself!
I’m Anika, the blogger behind Chapters of May. I’m a book lover, wannabe writer, and fan of all things cosy. I have a slight addiction to buying books even though I still have plenty to read at home.
2.) What inspired you to create a Blog and share your content?
I created my blog as part of a university application project and really fell in love with creating content online. My teacher at the time said a blog would make me stand out, but after ditching uni, I kept up with writing. It started off as fashion and daily adventures, then I started to post more photography and book reviews, and it evolved from there.
3.) What have been some of your favourite authors or books over the past couple of years?
That’s like asking someone to choose their favourite child!
One of my favourites is The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas, it’s extremely relevant to the times we’re living in and a fantastic piece of fictions for young adults.
I’m a huge fan of The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes, which is based on the Works Progress Administration’s Pack Horse Library Project and the women who ran it.
And there are a few others: The Hating Game by Sally Thorne, Beartown by Fredrik Backman, Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert, Normal People by Sally Rooney, Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman and The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern.
4.) What is one book you’ve read, which you wish got more love?
You Me Everything by Catherine Isaac. It was a great summer read.
5.) I know it can feel strange re-reading your own work sometimes, but what’s one of your favourite posts you’ve written?
Everything I Learned From Everything I Know About Love was a fun post to write. I’m really proud of how it was received.
6.) If you were stranded on a remote island and could only take one fictional character with you, who would it be and why?
Definitely Jonah from The Simple Wild by K.A. Tucker. He’s an Alaskan pilot, outdoorsy and resourceful.
7.) Who are some of your favourite bloggers and/ or booktubers?
The list could be endless!
- Jess from Sunbeamsjess
- Laura from What’s Hot?
- Patience from Ink & Fable
- Noha from She Tells a Story
- Evie from Evie Jayne
- Brittney from Reverie and Ink
- Nnenna from Star-Crossed Smile
- Emmerita from @fictionwithemmerita
- Polly from Polly Florence
- Jesse from Bowties & Books
- and Jaime from Absorbed In Pages
8.) Something you’d like to see more of in books?
Diverse representation for sure! There is truly nothing that warms my heart more than reading a book and being able to identify with the character. It’s an overwhelming joy that I don’t get often. There are too many books focused on stereotypes and hardships. Sometimes all I want to see is a little black girl magic!
