Reader Confessions Tag

I’ve been wanting to change my content up a bit and add a couple of tags a month so naturally I googled ‘bookish tags 2019’ and stumbled upon a wonderful book blog run by Nandini at Unputdownable Books . Full credit to her for sharing her answers for this tag, which inspired me to do the same! Do check out her blog as it’s an amazing book blog and although I’ve only just found her blog, I know it will be a fast favourite.

Without further ado, let the tag begin!

1.) Have you ever damaged a book?

A few times! By complete accident of course, usually it’s me dog earing the edge or little creases in the spine.

2.) Have you ever damaged a borrowed book?

Nope! If I’m borrowing a book from a friend or from the library, I’m always really careful to leave it in the perfect condition, there’s nothing worse than giving a book back damaged, I just find it rude.

3.) How long does it take you to read a book?

Normally I read quite fast anyway but if it’s a book I really love then it can be as short as one or two days. The fastest I’ve ever read a book is like seven hours though.

4.) Book that you haven’t finished?

I started reading The Priory of The Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon like 3 months ago and I still haven’t gotten back into it.

5.) Hyped or popular books you didn’t like?

The Catcher in the Rye, I seriously can’t get my head around the hype.

6.) Is there a book you wouldn’t tell anyone you were reading?

At the moment, no. But in the past I remember being shy about reading and enjoying a certain vampire centric series by the name of Twilight. Looking back on it, I don’t know why I was embarrassed because it’s just a book at the end of the day and I’m all for letting people enjoy what they want, as long as it’s not harmful.

7.) How many books do you own?

I think about 200+, I haven’t counted for a while so it’s probably close to 250, yikes!

8.) Are you a fast or slow reader?

A fast reader for sure. It takes me around 1-2 days to finish reading a book, or 4-5 if it’s a longer read. I wish I was a slower reader so I could space out my books and really savour a book but I just can’t seem to do it!

9.) Do you like to buddy read?

Believe it or not I don’t think I’ve ever buddy read a book so maybe soon I’ll try it out!

10.) If you were only allowed to own one book, what would it be and why?

I’m way too indecisive to just pick one book of all time but right now it would have to be either the City of Brass by S.A Chakraborty or The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow. Both these books have everything I enjoy in a story so I could see myself reading them over and over again.

If you’d like to do this tag, I’d love to see your answers so feel free to make it your own! Hope you guys enjoyed learning my ‘reader confessions’, what are some of your reader confessions? Are you a reader or are other forms of media more your thing? Would love to chat in the comments!

Until next time,

Rumaanah x

  1. That tag is so much fun! I should give it a try too. Also I envy fast readers – I suppose it’s always a “the grass is greener on the other side” thing. If you ever want a buddy reader, I am part of a book club for lazy and/or stressed readers :p

  2. Love this tag! First of all I am a slow reader, however sometimes I find myself when fully interested I finish way sooner! Like you. This was a great read, let’s us know more about you!♥️

  3. This is a really great tag! I’m always so interested to see what other people’s reading habits are like. You read really fast! I wish I had more time to sit and ready favourite books! X
